The Women of Malawi Charity mission is to reduce the maternal death rate by providing basic nutritional supplements, education programs for mothers and improving medical skills and facilities. The Charity encourages an increase in spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy among donors and in the cooperation and inclusion of the communities we work with.

Dr. Valerie Donnelly - Founder

Valerie Donnelly is a practicing Obstetrician and Lead Clinician at Mount Carmel Hospital in Dublin Ireland. She first went to Malawi in 2007 to administer courses in Emergency Obstetrics and immediately found a connection to the people and the place. However, she was profoundly overwhelmed by the poor medical facilities and health conditions of the women and children. She consistently returns to Malawi, volunteering in hospitals, delivering medical courses and undertaking the various projects of the charity.
